2001 Suzuki TL1000R

Excellent powerful engine. Motorcycle runs n is in fair conditions. It needs fairings n front turn signals n air duct. Over engine is in healthy conditions n its vey strong on take full throttle. I did a tear down engine n every part of engine passed except 1 camshaft. The front EX cam right lobe was passed its service limit. So I put a thicker shim. Easy fix to anyone who is picky. Other than that engine is good. Cons: there 4 issues this bike has. One is that it jerks 1st gear when taking off hard motogp style but it doesn’t jerk when smoothly opening throttle. They say it’s a safety thing Suzuki implemented on this bike. So is not really a problem I guess but I take off hard on 2nd gear n it’s fast. The next issue it has it turns off when I come to a hard complete stop but if I smoothly come to a stop it doesn’t. Don’t know if clutch plates are sticking or fuel is to low because I been testing it with less the 1/4 of gas. The third issue is key switch is broken. N last issue it has not been registered since 2006 so don’t know if it has backed dmv fees or not bc they don’t want to tell me n it has a lean but they also didn’t want to tell me. I think the lean needs to be sign off by PD impound. Not sure it’s just a guess. They told me that guy I bought it from did not register it to his name. DMV said that I could get register with a bond title since the bike had many owners but they never register it to there name. If buy another chassis I’ll swap the whole bike for another $1500 n u won’t need to worry about dmv possible fees or leans. U will pay all in full before I do any work. Cash only.
