Description

A Chinese green glazed pottery flask. The flask in the form of a saddle bag, decorated with a floral relief on either side picked out in ocher glaze, the top with perforated flanges decorated with two monkeys, Liao dynasty, 15.375" high. This is an amazing example of a 1000 year old Chinese Liao dynasty, porcelain saddle, form flask. Considering it’s age it’s in great overall condition. It has some minor chips in a couple of spots and some light chipping to the glaze. Came from my private collection of Provenance: Estate of Lila Mae Schneider Azad, Modesto, California.
