Description

This Norlin, Made in Japan, Epiphone FT-130 Caballero has a spruce top and mahogany back, sides, and neck with a rosewood fretboard. I cannot find any viewable scratches or dings anywhere on the guitar. It is in visually excellent condition. Playability has low to medium action. The bridge is rosewood and the bridge pins have been replaced. It has a bolt on neck common to acoustic Japanese guitars from the 60’s and 70’s. The Norlin Epiphones were made from the 60’s to the early 70’s by the Matsumoku factory where many other noteworthy guitar brands were made at the time. There is no true dating system for the serial number but I have see higher numbers than this in the 6-digit series. My best guess it is that it is from the the early-mid 70’s. Repairs and Maintenance that I did: 1. Reset and glued with clamps, the neck joint & neck receiver pocket 2. Reset the neck with 1 mm balsa wood shim 3. Re-glued and clamped the bridge with bridge jig for 48 hours 4. Set action to med-low. 5. Cleaned and polished the frets and fretboard. 5. Lemon oil treatment to fretboard 6. Installed new D’Addario Blue X, coated, 12-53 strings. These repairs and maintenance were not urgent but I did them to set up this guitar properly. It comes with the original, branded chipboard case with thin, grey foam interior. Located in North Decatur/Tucker, GA.
