The rear cracks are surface only and they have not affected the water proofing seal on the rear of phone so they are only cosmetic cracks. The back glass can be replaced for around $20 on eBay. I chose not to replace it because the cracks did not affect the functionality of the phone and did not affect the waterproofing of the phone.
