Ameritron ALS-600, solid state amplifier w/ matching transformer based analog power supply. This is an earlier manufactured Ameritron with real iron in the power supply and not the lightweight digital switching supply, like the later MFJ built amplifiers. This is a 600 watt solid state design; Utilizing four MRF 150 MOSFET finals, it offers instant on, and no tune performance on all the amateur bands 160 thru 10 meters, including WARC Bands and MARS frequencies. It includes but not shown is the optional remote bandswitch. You may operate the amp remotely via a CAT5 cable and the RJ11 Jacks located on the front panel. The amplifier includes the optional 10 meter module for continuous coverage . By the Way,,, for those that must always inquire,,, YES it will operate on chicken band,,, but why? These days it's silly stupid easy to get a ham ticket and the DX is great! Solid State Amps require no to very little service with no tubes to wear out and damaging high voltages to arc over. This earlier manufactured amp was built when the factory instituted a better quality control. This is evidenced by the reliability history of this amp. It has never malfunctioned or required a trip back to the factory .
