Description
It features a natural, organic shape with a live edge design, highlighting the depth and texture of the wood grain. The wood is likely from the protected Cryptomeria japonica cedar trees found on Yakushima Island, Japan. Likely from the 1940s or 1950s. These stands are often used for displaying items during a tea ceremony, bonsai pots, or ikebana arrangements. It rests on three or four low supports, giving it a floating appearance. 21” x 11-1/2”. Stands 2-1/2” high.
