Description

Vintage weight plates for a standard size barbell. Orbatron branded and made in the USA by Sears these were the first non-metal weight plates put out to market in the 60s and 70s for in home use. These weights feature a special compound interior of barite ore mixed with concrete which came to be known as Orbatron once solidified. with a high-impact vinyl covering that is permanently bonded, making them rustproof and reducing damage to carpet or linoleum surfaces and making them very long lasting. You or your parents might have had a set of these when you were young. This set includes just over 100lbs of weights broken down into the following plates 14.3lbs(2), 8.8lbs(7), 4.4lbs(2), and 2 microloading steel end caps. I am asking $70 which is about 70 cents per pound, far better prices than you can get weights anywhere else even for this vintage set. Some of the plates have cracks in the vinyl covering from age but are still bonded on strong and the Orbatron underneath is in perfect condition.
