Description
It is suspected that this pressed, clear glass cake plate or candy dish was manufactured by the Higbee Glass Company in Cambridge, Ohio or Indiana Glass Company in Dunkirk, Indiana during the Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) era around 1913. The pattern features an intricate geometric design with pinwheels, stars, and shield motifs arranged in a symmetrical pattern with a scalloped edge. 3 1/4” H 6 1/2” Top Diameter 3” Base Diameter EAPG pieces like this were popular household items in American homes during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, offering affordable yet decorative tableware to middle-class families. This 6½-inch cake plate is particularly valued by collectors of American pressed glass and EAPG enthusiasts for its detailed pattern work and historical significance as a representation of early 20th century American glassmaking.
