2002 Mazda Protege5. 196k miles, 5 speed manual transmission, super reliable and runs / drives great. Clean and clear title. Recent maintenance work includes new rear tires (fronts are in good condition), new alternator, new battery, new engine belts, new LED headlights and oil change. The car has been in our family for several years now and has always been good to us. We are selling the car as one of our family members recently joined the Navy and we no longer need it. As the car is 23 years old it does have a couple minor issues, however they do not affect the performance, reliability or safety of the car. It has a check engine light on for a minor emissions issue and it also emits a tiny noise when first started which is believed to be related to the ABS system however the system works fine and has been tested. The power mirrors do not work from the switch but they do work manually. Everything else, windows, sunroof, AC, locks, heater, etc works. The car is 100% stock, no modifications. Our mechanic said none of these issues are a big deal for a car of this age and they are not worth looking into as the car is in overall good shape and has many miles left in it. He added that he has seen these cars with well over 300k miles on them. Additionally, the brake pads were recently inspected and they have several thousands of miles left on them. The car stops and handles great. The body is in good shape but has a few small dings and such, along with minor paint fading on the hood and roof, which is normal for a car of its age. Worth noting the car does not have any rust and as far as we know its always been a local car. Rally Armor mud flaps have been installed. The interior is in very nice shape, with no tears, rips, stains or unusual wear. It has a newer stereo with wired Apple CarPlay, wireless bluetooth and two charging ports. The car also comes with the original owners manuals and two sets of keys. Also included is a set of never used cable snow chains. These particular cars are known to be practical, reliable, fun to drive and long lasting. It's a sporty little wagon and frankly somewhat of a "cult classic". I suggest you Google how cool these cars are. So, if you are looking for a small sporty Honda, Toyota or something along those lines, this one definitely is worth checking out. $3400.00 OBO.
