Description
Just seeing if there’s any interest in this before I put it up online. Mid 70s Otari MX5050 reel to reel tape recorder. This model is specifically a 2-SHTD. There’s limited info about these online but all of the first generation models only really vary by playback type. This one has two ins and four outs. It runs at 7.5 and 3.75 IPS on 1/4” tape. It’s currently roughly calibrated for SM911 / 456, but you should probably have a tech go through it and give the whole machine a tune up. Has rack ears, and a composite back panel but no wooden cabinet like most of them. The rolling cart is free with the machine, but not strictly part of the deal. Also have a manual that applies to most of the features of this specific model. Also will throw in 2 Otari branded 1/4” metal take up reels. Also have a 7.5IPS MRL tape that’s only about a year and a half old, only run through the machine 4 or 5 times. Will throw that in for a significant discount of a new one if interested. Let me know if you’re interested.
