Great vintage condition consistent with age — deep cobalt color and the classic Newport Hairpin petal-arc pattern. Defects & imperfections – please check pictures made under the bright light & magnification: • Noticeable utensil scratching inside both bowls • Small rough spots and tiny fleabite nicks on the rim areas Fascinating Fun Facts: • Hazel-Atlas produced the Newport “Hairpin” pattern between 1936–1940; the petal-like arcs were inspired by curved wire hairpins used in 1930s waved hairstyles. • Hazel-Atlas, headquartered in Wheeling, West Virginia, became famous for richly saturated cobalt glass that stayed bright even in dim Depression-era kitchens. • The pattern was marketed as an affordable way to bring Art Deco design into everyday homes.
