We were gonna trade in our old vehicle but ended up keeping it and purchased our brand new 2025 Kia Sorrento. I bought an EV6 in September 2024, I felt rushed and pressured to make a deal and was blatantly lied to about the charging package that was included. I just recently inquired about my payoff balance and found out that I was severely upside down on the value of the car. The reason I was upside down is because Sunset Kia marked up the price of the car almost $9k over MSRP. They did not have anything on the car stating this but when I questioned their ethics recently they said that they put this on all their vehicles. I realize that ultimately I should have double checked the financing numbers but I was focused on the monthly payment and there were rebates and incentives involved. I talked to the GM Patrick about my disappointment in the way they conducted business and that I have never paid over MSRP in the long history of new car purchases I have made. He said he would do his best to make it right if came down to work out a deal on another vehicle, he would give me more for the EV6 than it's current trade in value. My plan was to trade in the EV6 and my Chevrolet Silverado to purchase one vehicle, I felt like I had a good chance to get out of the Kia and use the equity in my Silverado to get something nice for a reasonable payment. Patrick took my Silverado for a test drive and came back to tell me there was something wrong with my truck. I disagreed with him and said that I have was the original owner and I guaranteed there was nothing wrong with it. I accused him of setting up a situation where he could give me less for my truck and once again try to screw me. He said there are multiple issues with your truck and said we are done here.

I went directly from Sunset Kia to Sound Ford in Renton, they gave me top value for my truck and additional value for the EV6. I drove out from Sound Ford with a brand new Ford Lightning F-150 with a payment less than my EV6. So I would recommend that you do your homework and check prices at all other Kia dealers before you buy anything from Sunset Kia. I know that other people have had great experiences at Sunset Kia but a lot are due to their great service department. I have purchased at least 15 new vehicles in my lifetime and my purchase at Sunset Kia is by far the worst experience I have ever had.
