Description
For sale is a very nice pair of the 1963 $ 2 & $5 Red Seal U.S. Notes. The Red Seal Notes are called "United States Notes" because they are currency that was actually issued by the United States and not the Federal Reserve, which is technically a separate entity. So any Red Seal Note was actually issued from the U.S. fiscal budget and not on loan from the Federal Reserve. Red Seal Notes are always fairly scarce because the Treasury would destroy these notes as they made they way back. This style of Red Seal Notes only had series years of 1953 & 1963. As you can see from the pics the notes are in really nice shape. The $2 would be considered higher than average circulated condition, and the $5 would be considered average circulated. They both have lots of crispness to them, especially the $2 note. On both notes the white, green, and red colors are vibrant, especially the $2. They both have minor folds and neither note has any major rips, tears, or stains. This is a nice vintage Note pair great for any currency collection. Please email me with questions or interest. Thanks!
