Description
made in pre-war (1920s) Germany by a maker working under the Antonio Loveri trade name. It was then imported into the United States by the Tonk Brothers firm, a 20th century American distributor based in Chicago. Although made in Markneukirchen, Germany, Loveri violins are well-deserving of their Italian moniker, having a reputation for producing remarkably dulcet tones given their modest German pedigree. This particular instrument is beautifully varnished, boasting a flamed one-piece back and original ebony fittings throughout. The Loveri is a remarkably well-made fiddle that should satisfy the needs of the discriminating professional as well as the dedicated student! It is equipped with a Tourte octagonal wooden bow and case.
