Description

The opening is bright and energetic — zesty lemon and bergamot meet spicy cardamom and Sichuan pepper, with a resinous elemi/ frankincense edge. In the heart it transitions into a richer patchouli- and spice-driven region: notes like saffron, anise, rose, cumin and wormwood show up. The base is deep and warm: vanilla, amber, benzoin, labdanum, birch, musk and oud form a resinous, woody dry-down. It’s part of the “Essences” line from Amouage, crafted by perfumer Cécile Zarokian, and features a double-infusion process (with sandalwood chips and oak barrels) and a six-month maturation period, which gives it a layered, premium feel.
