Sigma DP3 Quattro, Foveon Sensor, 50mm F2.8

Gently used Sigma DP3 Quattro. If you're looking at this you probably know a bit about this camera but the Sigma DP3 Quattro is an unusual beast, a relatively compact APS-C camera with a fixed 75mm equivalent lens, unique design principles and Sigma's foveon sensor which does things a little differently to the standard bayer sensors found in most other digital cameras. The Sigma lens is very sharp and with it's equivalent 75mm focal length is ideal for portraits, landscape and street photography to name a few. The colors which the camera produces are very good owing to the foveon sensor and coupled with the excellent lens it's possible to take some really stunning photos. The raw files are in the native DNG format which makes them compatible with most photo editing software without the need for conversion. There are also a range of JPG options and pleasing colour filters which can be applied if you prefer shooting JPG only. The camera does have it's quirks and I see it as more of a creative tool if you enjoy photography for photography's sake, taking time over composition and enjoying the process. It's not going to be able to keep up with the latest pro level DSLR's snapping 10 frames a second at an event but bearing in mind the smaller form factor and the excellent optics it's not a bad trade off. The build quality and handling is great and it doesn't take long to grasp the camera ergonomics and the menu system. There are also quite a few external controls to allow the photographer to focus on the important bit, taking photos. This camera is in really excellent condition, barely a mark in sight. The rear LCD and lens are in spotless condition as is the camera overall. It comes with 2 original batteries + charger, lens cap, lens hood and LCD viewfinder attachment.
