Description

A refined and timeless statement piece, this Howard Miller grandfather clock has been privately held in our family since 1980 and was originally commissioned for us. It represents the enduring craftsmanship and mechanical artistry for which the brand is known. Housed in a beautifully figured hardwood cabinet with a warm, rich finish, the clock features a classic arched bonnet, beveled glass door, and an elegant brass dial with a functioning moon phase complication. The presence is both architectural and graceful—suited for a curated interior, executive office, or collector’s space. At its core is a cable-driven triple chime movement (Model 610-178), offering a choice of Westminster, Whittington, or St. Michael chimes. The movement, pendulum, and weights are all intact, and the original manufacturer’s instruction panel remains preserved inside—an increasingly rare detail valued by collectors. Condition: Exceptional cosmetic condition with no visible wear, retaining its original finish and integrity. The clock was professionally disassembled for relocation and has not been reinstalled since. As is typical for fine mechanical timepieces of this kind, it will require standard setup and a routine service/tune-up to ensure optimal operation after installation. Details: Original family-owned piece (since 1980) Cable-driven triple chime movement (Model 610-178) Selectable chimes: Westminster, Whittington, St. Michael Moon phase dial with ornate brass face Solid hardwood case with glass door and exposed pendulum Original documentation panel intact Made in Zeeland, Michigan, USA Why This Piece: Unlike many secondary-market clocks, this example offers verified provenance, excellent preservation, and original components—making it especially appealing to collectors and those seeking a legacy-quality timepiece.
