Description

Hidden Treasures on the Brick Road 10003 270th St NW, Stanwood, WA 98292 Open: Fridays 1pm - 4pm & Saturdays 1pm - 6pm (Closed 6/14/2025) Add charm to your space with this stunning antique pump organ, featuring a warm wood finish and elegant scrollwork legs. The organ is housed in a fold-top wooden cabinet, allowing it to double as a decorative console table when closed. The exposed keyboard includes traditional black and ivory-tone keys, and the organ is powered by foot pedals beneath an intricately carved stretcher base. Features: 30 inches tall, 33 inches long, 24 inches deep. Authentic antique pump organ Solid wood case with fold-down cover Ornate scrollwork leg and stretcher design Dual foot pedal operation Antique Age: The ornate scrolled legs and stretcher reflect Victorian-era influence, especially the Rococo Revival style popular in the mid to late 1800s. The wooden finish and use of solid wood construction (likely oak or walnut) suggest craftsmanship from a time before mass production with pressed board or veneers became dominant in the 20th century. The presence of foot-pumped bellows (two pedals) was a defining feature of reed organs, particularly in home parlor settings, from about 1850 to the 1920s, before electric organs took over. After about 1920–1930, electric suction replaced foot-pumping in most commercially produced organs. The keytops appear to be bone or early celluloid, common in pre-WWII instrument manufacturing. This example seems to be minimalist, possibly an earlier or more modest model, later reed organs often had more elaborate stops, multiple ranks, and even upper keyboards. Its simple rectangular lid and compact form suggest it may have been made for personal/domestic use, common in the late 1800s.
