Carefully operated over the years. Light use. It was a second receiver. I am the 2nd owner. It was previously owned by my father who rarely used it. He paid $1400 for in 1991. That’s almost $3000 in 2021 money! Everything is operational and intact. Works as it does like it was new. These sell upwards of $500 now for mint condition ones with remote. I have other pioneer equipment for sale. PIONEER VSX-D1S RECEIVER The Pioneer VSX-D1S audio/video receiver resembles one of those classy four-wheel-drive vehicles. The VSX-D1S takes you anywhere you want to go over the audio/video terrain. Weighing in at 35 pounds, it travels sonic highways with authority. Pioneer builds five power amplifiers into the VSX-D1S. In allocation of power it is the most intelligently designed Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound receiver on the market. Rather than putting all the power in the front channels, Pioneer spreads it around more evenly, giving you two options of where to place the power. In standard mode, the VSX-D1S produces a whopping 130 watts of power per channel into 8 ohms with only .005 percent total harmonic distortion (THD) from the front stereo channels. It also powers the front center and rear speakers with 40 watts per channel. For more even power distribution, you can switch the receiver to produce 70 watts for each of the front three channels and 50 watts each for the two rear channels. Most receivers skimp far too much on center- and rear-channel power with a meager 10 and 15 watts. The VSX-D1S includes ample switching for a multitude of audio and video sources. It switches six video plus audio sources, such as VCRs and laserdisc players, and six audio-only sources, such as phono, tuner and CD player. This receiver handles both regular video and high-resolution S-video. Thus you can connect and switch S-VHS and Hi8 VCRs with no loss of quality. However, the VSX-D1S can`t intermix regular and S-video. If you have both types of video equipment, you need to wire both the regular output and S output from the receiver to your TV and switch between them on the TV. A large row of source- selector touch panels line the center of the receiver, beneath the enormous amber fluorescent display. The front panel contains 48 switches, two large knobs and a pushbutton that opens a door, revealing an addition 29 controls plus an additional set of audio and video inputs. The upper knob controls the master volume, while the bottom knob is actually a six-function jog dial. The jog dial can be used as a manual tuning knob, a most desirable feature. Describing all the Pioneer`s functions would be an exercise in excess. The Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound circuit sounds very well, with adjustments for a variety of room sizes and listening conditions. Digital bar graphs dance up and down the display showing the relative levels of all five channels (although not at the same time). This proves useful for adjusting the system. The same dancing graphs will also show tone settings. The surround channels also serve the acoustic sound-field enchancer. This increasingly common feature sends a delayed signal to the rear channels to simulate different listening environments. Pioneer provides hall, dance, theater, church and jazz. A unique video enhancer adjusts picture quality. Pressing a button splits your TV screen into two halves. One side shows the normal picture, and the other side displays the enhanced picture. This permits adjusting the enhancer for optimum picture quality by using the normal picture as a reference. Memory circuits store five video-enhancement settings as well as custom surround sound and sound-field enhancements. In fact, just about any setting on this Pioneer can be stored in one of its many memory banks. The VXS-D1S serves as the center of a multiroom system. The MR-100 multiroom-system remote control facilitates whole-house sound. The VXS-D1S can play two different sources in two different rooms with the proper accessories and wiring. The supplied remote control can learn 226 commands (about 76 more than necessary to control this receiver). It will function with any type or brand of equipment. However, its 72 keys and three switches are excessive and confusing, and most users will be too intimidated to take full advantage of its power. This $1,400 receiver sounds great. Pioneer practices overkill with all the features loaded into the VSX-D1S, but you certainly get your money`s worth.
