This is an authentic vintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) chalkware sculpture manufactured by Marwal Industries Inc. and dated 1965. It is a highly collectible piece from Marwal’s line of ethnic busts, known in the collecting community as the "Asian Beauty" or "Vietnamese Girl." The bust is signed on the back with the manufacturer's mark and the sculptor: © 1965 Marwal Ind. Inc. by Brower. This is an original vintage item from 1965, and its condition is commensurate with its age. • Material: Made of chalkware (a painted plaster composite), which is fragile and often shows wear. • Imperfections: The bust has minor chips and paint loss in several areas, particularly on the black ponytail and the right side of face which are typical signs of age for this material.
