Description

This is a lovely authentic example of Soviet era Russian folk art. It is an original hand-painted lacquer panel titled (bottom left in Russian) "The battle with the dragon" and signed (bottom right in Russian) "by S. Stepanov. It depicts a bogaryr warrior battling the dragon in classic Kholui style. The artist's exhibited skill is unusually fine. Size is 16 in tall by 11 in wide.
