-Antique Chinese commode with two drawers and a double door cabinet for additional storage below. -We originally purchased from a well known design and furniture store in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. -The splitting panels and time-worn areas of exposted unpainted wood have existed since purchased approximately 34 years ago. -In general, this piece has been very carefully owned and gently used as a lamp side table in the formal living room with photos on top, and porcelain stored in the interior shelves. -This antique Chinese Chest is a striking example of traditional craftsmanship and symbolic design, featuring a deep red finish that reflects centuries-old cultural significance—red being a symbol of prosperity, joy, and protection in Chinese heritage. -Fitted with it's original hardware, the metalwork offers both functional and symbolic value. -Overall construction displays traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, ensuring durability and historical authenticity. -Wood cross brace in the last picture shows in detail it's extensive hand-carved craftsmanship. -This Timeworn, Functional art has been a treasure to own and now ready for it's next adventure! -Dimensions: H 27" W 26.5" D 16" We are located in the Lake Oswego - West Linn area of Portland.
