Cyrus Two 2 Integrated Amplifier Rare PSX Power Supply England 70 WPC

Excellent condition Mission Cyrus Audio Two (II) and attached PSX power supply. Included is the original owners manual. The Cyrus Two has an awesome phono stage and is switchable between MM and MC turntable setups. Please read the excellent reviews of this English audio company online. The PSX supply added extra muscle and scale, raising the Two's power output to 70W per channel. By leaving the amplifier's internal supply to feed just the preamp section, it also improved sound quality across the board. On a Cyrus Two with PSX the internal power supply only powers the phono stage, and the PSX only powers the power amp. These two are not related so power sequencing is immaterial. All versions of the Cyrus 2 (from the early plastic case though to the final revision with the toggle power switch) all share a fairly unique PSU arrangement. The transformer in the Cyrus 2 is wired directly to the IEC socket on the rear of the amp. The 'mains' switch is located in the Transformer secondaries that feed the bridge and smoothing caps for the power amp. The regulated supply that powers the phono stage is permanently connected (it does not turn off from the 'mains' switch on the front panel). So in summary if you are using a Cyrus 2 with PSX the switch on the Cyrus 2 front panel does nothing other than to turn on / off the LED on the front panel. Cases are in great condition and volume pot is noise free. Fully tested unit. The PSX unit is missing the power switch so the unit can be controlled by an external power surge protector or just left on.
