Cool and collectible vintage circa 1960s-70s acoustic guitar by Checkmate, model G-425. Made in Korea, this guitar has a bat-winged style black double pickguard with etched graphic details, walnut fingerboard, mother of pearl inlay position markers, and a steel-reinforced neck. It sports a graphic “Checkmate” emblem and “Steel Reinforced Neck, Made in Korea" label to the headstock and “Model No. G-424” to the interior of the sound chamber. Likely crafted in Korea by Teisco (or Kwai) with Checkmate branding upon import between 1960-70, this vintage guitar is a testament to the unique esthetic and craftsmanship of a bygone era. This guitar is well-loved but in good condition considering its age, with minor wear to finish consistent with a vintage guitar. New strings and pegs.
