This is Korhogo Mud Cloth West African Textile The Frame is 58" wide x 43" tall Korhogo cloth is a type of West African textile from the Ivory Coast, named after the village of Korhogo, that uses a fermented mud-based pigment to hand-paint symbolic designs, often depicting humans, animals, and natural elements, onto hand-spun and woven cotton fabric. Produced by the Senufo people, it was traditionally worn for protection against spirits and used for important cultural events like rites of passage and by hunters.
