Description
For sale is a very nice set of the 1953, 1953-A, & 1953-B $2 Red Seal U.S. Notes. The Red Seal Notes are called "United States Notes" because they are currency that was actually issued by the United States and not the Federal Reserve, which is technically a separate entity. So any Red Seal Note was actually issued from the U.S. fiscal budget and not on loan from the Federal Reserve. Red Seal Notes are always fairly scarce because the Treasury would destroy these notes as they made they way back. This style of $2 Red Seal Notes only had series years of 1953 & 1963. A unique feature of the 1963 note is it is the very first year they added the motto "In God We Trust" on the reverse. This set gives you the first 3 released series of the 1953 Reds (there was a total of 4 different series releases.) As you can see from the pics the notes are in really nice shape, and they would be considered higher than average circulated grades. They all have lots of crispness still to them, and on all the white, green, and red colors are very bold and vibrant. The notes do have folds, but they have no major rips or tears. Please message me regarding payment and shipping options. This is a nice vintage Note pair great for any currency collection at a low price. Please email me with questions or interest. Thanks!
