Description

Iconic Midcentury; Richard Galef for Ravenware Industrial Mod Metal Phone Caddy/Magazine Rack in Pink: Without ever really knowing who designed those iconic phone stands of the 50s and 60s, I decided to do a bit of investigating and found out that the designer was a man by the name of Richard Galef. He was an industrial modernist. He favored geometric shapes and worked mostly with metal. This was put out by a company called Ravenware and they put out a bunch of his work in the 50s-60s that are still very sought after today. This was probably a brass color and then someone painted it black and then someone decided to paint it pink. I plead the 7th and refrain to speak on the color. This is a very unusual design as it’s not the typical straight up and down design but it has more of a Christmas Tree shape. The top part is for a phone and the bottom part would typically be used for a phone book or magazines. Measures 24” H x 14.5” W x 11” D. First shelf is 12” x 8” and bottom shelf is 10” x 14.” These are not rare by any means. The shape of this one is very unique and I didn’t find much on it but most resellers have the more popular shape and they are being listed at from $125-$200. I honestly hope they get what they’re asking but I’m only asking $70 for mine. I got it for a fair price so why not extend that fairness? No holds without a partial, non refundable deposit that’s good for ten days and ten days only.
