Description

What’s up guys Just wanted to give some free advice on how to legit check sneakers on your own, with little to no cost. I’ve been into sneakers for 20+ years and have picked up some tricks along the way. I use to have a small re-sell spot in Washington state. Not saying I am the ultimate master, but here are some tricks I use. UV light Go buy one, especially if you’re into buying used sneakers with meetups or at sneaker events. It doesn’t need to be expensive, a $7 light works fine. Watch as many YouTube videos on how to spot the UAs. Generally, the lower quality UAs have less than perfect stitching, and will sometimes even have a stitching guide only seen under UV light. Size Tag If the sneaker is an older model, chances are there are used examples on GOAT. Check the pictures of the shoes for the UPC number on the same shoe, same size, same colorway. Example, the 2015 Chicago 1 in a size 10.5 will always have a UPC number shown in the picture second picture posted. (There may be exceptions, if a shoe was manufactured in multiple countries, but generally, this is a safe method.) Obvious things to check - User rating, or Transaction History (if available, and if not, that should be a red flag) - Check the box to make sure it’s authentic. (Again watch YouTube videos and look up used GOAT examples to better spot fake boxes.) - Receipt (these can be faked too. Check to see where the shoes were bought, does it make sense that the seller would have purchased at Scottsdale Fashion Square? Then you’re probably ok. A receipt from China? Not looking so good…) - If it’s too good to be true (crazy shoe, cheap price)…it usually is. Of course, everything is with a grain of salt. I’m sure I’m missing a bunch of other tells, but this is what I generally use. And, I just take a look at the shoe. I’ve been around shoes enough to have a basic understanding of the shape and materials used on most shoes to be able to spot anything amiss. And I have seen perfect UAs with matching UPC numbers and no tells under a UV light, (though it is rare) so be careful! If you have any questions or need help, feel free to message me. Happy and safe hunting! 🙏🏼 Nike, yeezy, Jordan 1, Travis Scott, dunk, Union, Off White
