Motherboard audio, while decent, has been known to usually have low quality components, mediocre headphone amplifiers, and the ever-present risk of interference from nearby electronics. Why not bypass crappy motherboard audio and enjoy crisp, crystal clear acoustics? That's where an external AMP and DAC like these ones come in. Asides from the audio quality increase, you get various inputs/outputs to connect different devices at the same time. (say, you like switching between headphones and speakers). If you like virtual surround, Dolby Atmos works great with these. Also compatible with consoles with an hdmi audio extractor adapter (20 bucks or so on Amazon) These are considered one of the very best in their price range (look up measurements and reviews), devices that often punch far above their class, matching more expensive devices on the market in performance. I am only selling these because I upgraded to a better setup, which was more than twice the price of these. That's how much $ it took to find a suitable replacement for these guys. I'll consider reasonable offers.
