Description

If you're playing Bass you want a BASS AMP and not a GUITAR AMP. "Wait, WUT??!? An 'amp' is not an 'AMP'?!?!?! How can it not simply amplify my Bass? And you may ask yourself 'Don't they all got strings?' And you may tell yourself 'This is not my beautiful Bass!'" Bass guitars play really low frequencies that are significantly lower than a guitar, which is what the vast majority of the musicians are playing. Meanwhile, as badass as Gain, Reverb, and Tremolo sound on a Bass, those features are really meant for guitars and can be unnecessary for a Bassist, who would rather have 6-12 bands of Equalization to hone instead of a field of FX meant for guitarists wanting to not need so many freaking pedals. So a Bass Amp will first and foremost handle the low end Bass frequencies a lot better than a Guitar Amp. But they will often forego the Gain and FX features, which is the case in Fender's Rumble series of Bass Amps. Like all Fender products, the quality is there and there's no denying the clarity and quality of the Fender sound. You just don't get a lot of on-board effects beyond EQing, which is what Bass Amps are supposed to do. Does the Rumble Series carry the bottom end like it should? Yup, but if you can double your price you can get the same Bass coverage out of a 25 Watt Guitar Amp with the volume throttled back AND you can play with the cool effects designed for the guitars. But then, you're paying AT LEAST TWICE AS MUCH as these $40 Bass Amps just to get to play around with some cool FX that you're never going to use as a Bassist on stage. Until you know what you're doing, IF YOU'RE LEARNING TO PLAY BASS, GET A BASS AMP, END OF STORY. You can upgrade into bigger guitar amps with cool effects that can handle your Bass once you get a better understanding of the equipment. I also have a pair of "AKG K220M Vintage Circumaural Stereo Headphones" that I currently have listed at $25 that I'd include for an extra $10 for a package total of $60. You should really get some headphones in the $50-75 range, but if you need headphones for $10, these AKG closed-ear cans are a way to go. See my listings for details on those headphones.
