Manufactured by Plummer, Ltd., this full six-piece set of commemorative commemorative dishes are Sheriff's Jury Bicentennial Dinner Plates, dating from 1976. The Sheriff's Jury in Manhattan consisted of wealthy and/or prominent New Yorkers who had non-criminal questions sent to them by the Sheriff of the city. They were known for their sumptuous annual banquets, which were covered by the press. Size: Measuring 10 3/4" in diameter, these plates depict various historic patriotic scenes and are titled: • Betsy Ross and the First Stars and Stripes • The Spirit of '76 • Battle of Bunker's Hill • Declaration of Independence • Washington Crossing the Delaware • Surrender of Cornwallis The condition of each plate is excellent, with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage, or repairs.
