Description
Excellent condition 1988 Tama Pro Custom Bell Brass snare drum. Yet again, this is another holy grail snare drum that all collectors dream about. This example has been loved more than our other listed example. This is now the second and only example of this drum listed on the market. The original owner has kept it in a hard case in an a/c controlled room since owning the drum, and never gigged or recorded with it. The drum sits at 6.5x14, is equipped with stamped brass Mighty Hoops, and a 3mm shell, the exact same as the previous sought after "Mastercraft" version. The 3mm Bell Brass shell has an unmistakable cutting crack to it and records very beautifully as heard famously on "Nevermind" by Nirvana. Happy to send sound examples as well. I have also included a photo found from the original catalogue, describing the drum: "As one of the primary innovators in modern jazz, Elvin Jones has been a major influence on the lives of drummers the world over. Elvin Jones uses Tama Bell-Brass snare drums. At first this combination might seem unlikely, but not after you consider the wide range of tone and tuning possibilities of which Bell-Brass is capable. Shown below is Tama's gold plated Bell-Brass model, fitted with gold plated Freedom Lugs, Brass Mighty Hoops and a Cam-Lever strainer." Comes with a snug hardshell snare flight case in good condition as well. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
