My parents recently passed away and this was one of their possession that has been in the house my entire life though never burned. it was simply decor and while my mom did not have a nautical theme, it would be a perfect addition to nautical decor. She bought it because it is made by Viking, my dad is Norwegian and his demolition company was named Viking Land Clearing. The lantern has a patina commensurate with its age. Be aware there are shiny reproductions of this lantern being currently made that run new around $225. Height is 13", width is 6.5" and depth is 5.25". Hope you can love it onward as my mother did.
