Description
I looked carefully at your lamp — terracotta or ceramic body, rounded form, with a raised gilt bronze/brass “sun face” mask applied to the front. This is a very distinctive design, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find an exact same one in auction or resale archives. Pieces like this are often studio-made artisan lamps (1970s–1980s) with Mediterranean, Brutalist, or Latin American influence. The gold sun face motif is reminiscent of Peruvian / Mexican folk art and also of certain Italian Brutalist ceramics. What I can tell you: • Material: Terracotta or clay with metallic gilt overlay. • Style: Mid-Century Brutalist / Folk Art Revival. • Likely Origin: Artisan studio pottery (possibly Mexico, Peru, or Italy). • Era: 1960s–1980s. • Value Range: Harder to comp since I didn’t find the exact match — similar one-off Brutalist ceramic lamps with relief faces/suns list between $750–$1800 depending on condition and provenance. sun face lamp vintage lamp terracotta lamp ceramic lamp folk art lamp artisan pottery lamp handmade lamp boho lamp bohemian décor mid century modern lamp MCM lighting Hollywood Regency Brutalist lamp retro lamp sun motif décor face lamp sculptural lamp Mediterranean décor Mexican pottery lamp Peruvian folk art lamp Italian ceramic lamp eclectic décor hippie décor studio pottery lamp art deco revival unique collectible lamp farmhouse eclectic statement lighting vintage boho chic sunburst décor
