Description
*Click on the images to view full-size photos (OfferUp crops them for some reason). Original owner. This custom setup was assembled from new parts that were tweaked, modified, and altered to make a portable drillpress which suited my tastes and needs at the time of assembly. Sale includes everything shown. The vintage American-made Skill drill had its bit-holder upgraded to a Spanish made chuck with a 1/2"inch (13mm) drill-bit capacity. Operation starts at a click of a switch at the end of the power cord, but a foot-switch is recommended for convenience and simplicity sake. A velcro strap around the trigger is used to make adjustments to the speed at the spindle. The base of the press measures 9" by 6.5" and has brass feet installed at the mounting holes. The convenient metal chip tray for containing swarf and oil measures 7.5" by 12.5". The jig for containing a pipe/tube/rod measures 3" by 5" at the top. The quick-adjusting vise jaws are 4" wide with a 4" clamping capacity. The press has a 10" maximum height (measured from the bed/platform of the base to the bottom of the chuck) and has two allen/hex keys for quick height adjustment. The keys are gently held in place by soft putty, and can be permanently mounted with superglue or epoxy. The press has a throw of 4.5" (measured from the front of the column to the center of the chuck). The drilling depth is 3". There are two additional shims for the press collar (in case you want to use your own portable/hand drill or dremel), the original sidearm (auxiliary handle) from the drill, a pair of replacement brushes for the drill, and two chuck-keys (one new and one used). The weight of everything shown is 16.2 lbs/pounds. Thanks for looking!
