Copyrighted in 1955, it was compiled by Sylvester and Alice Tinker of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. It features 48 pages of traditional indigenous recipes, including breads, game meats, and vegetables. Historical Value & Facts: Prominent Authors: Sylvester J. Tinker was a highly respected leader who served as the Principal Chief of the Osage Tribe from 1970 to 1982. Historical Significance: This book is formally dedicated to the memory of Fred Lookout, who was the Principal Chief of the Osage Nation when the book was first published.
