Description

This is a wonderful antique 1913 WESTERN ELECTRIC AMERICAN BELL TELEPHONE CO. BRASS and BAKELITE Candlestick Telephone made by the Western Electric - American Telephone & Telegraph Company USA. This working phone has an all brass metal body with bakelite speaker cone and handset. The back top is signed " 5AL" and base front reads "PATENTED JAN 26 1915 Jan 1 1918 SEPT 21 1920. The phone includes an adapter to plug into a landline. The rotary phone dials but your carrier must be able to read "pulse dialing" . When calling this phone the handset (to listen) and speaker cone (to speak into) both work. It does not come with the "ringer box" but I'm sure you can find one online if desired. Nevertheless it is in very good condition and could use a little light buffing to make it perfect! Because of it's age the phone is being sold "as-is" but you won't be disappointed - it's a part of American phone history and a great example of this type of "candlestick" phone!
