Preoccupied with drawing and painting since early childhood, he received his fine arts degree after extensive training both here and abroad. His artistry is the result of a lifetime absorbed in the gamut of visual arts disciplines. He has established a fluency in styles and techniques ranging from classical to contemporary. Wood is a member of the society of Western Artists. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and enjoys national recognition. Over the years, his work has taken him into the fields of commercial illustration, architectural rendering, teaching and back out again to the "fine art" painting that he really loves. Thus, resulting in numerous one man shows and awards, including the National "Arts for the Parks" Competition's "Top 100" and "Top 200." His subjects are equally diverse, painting seascapes, landscapes, portraits and wildlife with eclectic skill.
