Open to reasonable offers National of Mt. Airy Furniture Company of Bassett, VA introduced this roll-top desk called the "C.E. O." in the 1970's. It is a reproduction of those used in the early 1900's by such tycoons as J. P. Morgan. This particular desk was purchased new by current owners in 1985 and features a rich oak finish (Natl of Mt. Airy's light finish*). There are 2 main pieces to the desk - th piece (#2604-809) and the desk/roll top piece (#2604-909). The base piece has a total of seven drawers - a key-lockable cen drawer that, when closed, mechanically locks the three drawers on each side - and two pullout writing surfaces. top piece features a key-lockable pull-down tambour (of course), various drawers, secret trays, pigeonholes, and ornate brass hardware, as well as a built-in electrical outlet, pivotal light, and telephone jack. The desk is in remarkable condition and, being from solid oak, is very heavy weighing approximately 560 lbs. It has finished panels on all sides so can also be used as a room divider This is a quality piece of furniture that will enhance your business or home office. DIMENSIONS: 65-1/2" wide x33-3/4" deep high. The large center drawer is 30" wide. Original keys are missing but can be rekeyed lamp works and spare light bulb included.
