Description
Vintage White Milk Glass Square Plate with a Lace Edge. This style of plate was famously produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company and Atterbury & Co.. Westmoreland was a prominent producer of milk glass from the late 1800s to the early 1980s. It is made of milk glass, an opaque or translucent white glass popular in vintage dinnerware and decorative items. The distinctive border is known as a "lace edge" or "reticulated edge," often featuring a repeating "S" shaped scroll pattern, particularly in the "Square S" pattern by Atterbury or similar "Doric Lace" patterns by Westmoreland. These types of milk glass plates were commonly produced in the mid-20th century, especially from the 1940s to the 1960s. $20 OBO
