Description

Built by master builder Jim Triggs. Fantastic feel and tone. The neck is great and the sound is beautiful. The top has somehow caved in (see pics). I bought it as is and had my luthier go through it. It is structurally sound and stable so the issue is cosmetic. I can only assume that it also gave the guitar its current tone. I bought it to get more into jazz but never did. I’m an electric guitar player and spend 90 plus percent of my playing time on my 335. This is an otherwise $5k-$6k guitar. I’m open to reasonable offers, trades (trade value is higher than the listed cash price), or trade plus cash. I don’t have to sell but want to bc I don’t play it. Original hardware includes engraved Triggs signature trapeze tailpiece; Grover Imperial 16X1 tuners with tortoise keys; adjustable compensated ebony bridge; bound ebony pickguard. In the mid-80's, Gibson's new management inherited a proud company with its reputation in tatters. Wasting no time, company brass hired master luthier Jim Triggs to head up the newly revitalized Gibson Custom Shop. Drawing on his extensive experience in high-end luthiery, Triggs almost single-handedly revived the firm's reputation as the industry leader in archtop guitars, carved mandolins, and extravagant custom creations for Gibson's celebrity clientele. Working on his own since 1992, Triggs quickly made a name with his superlative recreations of the classic Stromberg and D'Angelico archtops, as well as custom guitars for discriminating players worldwide. Now in partnership with his son Ryan, the Triggs name has become a watchword for custom luthiery of the highest caliber.
