Description
It was the first commercially successful key-driven calculating machine, patented in the USA in 1887 by Dorr E. Felt. "Key-driven" means pressing the keys directly adds the number to the total, making it very fast for addition. The machine could perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The model pictured was manufactured by Felt & Tarrant Mfg. Co. and has eight columns of keys.
