Sony Turntable PS-X40 Mint and Serviced

1970's Sony Audio was some of the highest quality coming out of Japan. The Sony PS-X** models were their higher end. This particular model was a mid-level offering PS-X40 but rivaled most of the comparable brands top offerings.  Direct Drive motor with Quartz Lock (Keeps perfect speed). The majority of models have speed pots you have to adjust from time to time and maintain as they can drift off speed.  Separate motor and gear for the movement of the tonearm (This keeps the tonearm completely separate and away from vibration the motor and spinning platter cause. It also makes for precision arm movement and cueing location). The turntable has been completely serviced including: -Full removal of old dry grease from all required areas and new grease applied.  -Tonearm worm gear and motor lubricated.  - Direct Drive motor pulled, cleaned and re-oiled with best quality synthetic. -Tonearm bearings above and below oiled  -Tonearm damping grease replaced for a gentle up down of stylus (This is important for maintaining a straight stylus cantilever and protection of your expensive records). -Tonearm and headshell contacts surfaced and treated against oxidation.  -Steel platter resurfaced and buffed to like new appearance. -Good quality Audio Technica cartridge with brand new replacement stylus installed and set up. -Full cleaning and detail of entire turntable including the power cord and phono cords.
