1990 Swatch Watch Wristwatch in Case and Box W Papers AI

I was all ready to list this watch as a Swatch watch in mint unused condition until I was going over it and wiping it down and I noticed there was some greasy stuff on the back on each side of the strap and I wiped it down and then I noticed that the black portion of the back of the strap cracked where it is connected to the case on both sides..... so everything is mint but the back of the strap and I don't know how you would correct that unless you put a new strap on it and it probably wouldn't match the one that's there now or there's a way to peel the top of the watch band off and put it on a new rubber black under band ? Collectors know of this problem already ... most watches are for display only as this one should be and if you want to wear it then put a new band on it which is stronger as I guess they deteriorate over time according to my research. There are people selling replacement bands also on the various resale websites. I REMOVED THE BATTERY WHICH WAS ORIGINAL JUST TO PLAY IT SAFE.
