Description

TEN HUT! Beautiful but Flawed 1940s Wood Military Four Drawer File Cabinet w/Flaws: The one thing I want to stress when buying vintage is that very rarely are you going to come across an antique or vintage piece that is 100% perfect. There are always going to be a few flaws. With that said, you’re also not buying my headache - you are getting a piece that I felt was worth saving from the landfill and used and loved once again. I love this old 1940s four drawer wood file cabinet because it sort’ve stands apart from the old clunky metal ones. True, it has the same basic shape…same pullout drawers but I like that it’s in army barracks green and the numbers on the side of the drawer…I mean, it’s not “oh, my God this is revolutionary “ unique but it just adds a certain flourish that a regular filing cabinet doesn’t possess. It also has some etched in graffiti to help keep it real and there is portion of wood that’s missing from the bottom drawer. The missing wood does not affect the overall structural integrity of the piece. If your OCD is on overdrive you can fill in that space with wood putty and repaint it army green or just repaint it army green without going through the trouble of fixing it or just leave it as is. The drawers are very clean inside but if you’re going to use it as a dresser you might want to adhere a thin veneer to the inside of each drawer to keep things from falling through. With all that said, it’s about 51” H x 16” Across x 27” W and each drawer is 5” Deep. It still has the file liners inside just in case you do decide to use it as a file cabinet. On those crazy sites this style of vintage cabinet starts at around $300 and the most expensive one I saw was $1200. I am asking $65. You really couldn’t buy the wood, paint, and hardware to make it for that low. Money doesn’t drive our business as much as seeing people get what they love. With that said, we also don’t appreciate lowballers because afterall, we already are offering this (even with its flaws) at a very fair price. Message me for more information and may you always find what’s yours to find.
