Description

Overview: Up for sale is this very neat Japanese woodblock print by the prolific Japanese printmaker, Tomikichiro Tokuriki. The print is titled, "Soba Vendor." Unlike most Japanese woodblock prints which depict nature or a famous landmark, this is a contemporary midcentury "slice-of-life" piece showing a noodle cart with a vendor playing a flute next to the cart. It is one of Tokuriki's most recognizable pieces. From my research, this print dates to around 1950. The print is unframed. Condition: Print is in fair to good condition. Some minor water staining at lower center. Measurements: Visible area of the print measures approximately 15.5 inches high x 10.375 inches wide.
