Fender Precision Bass Guitar ‘83 Squier MIJ Japan SQ serial vintage + Hardcase

Description

Don’t be fooled by the Squier name on the headstock if you’re not already aware of the amazing 80’s Squier Japan reputation. In every way as good as the Fender branded models of that time, built on the same factory line, and in most cases absolutely identical besides the headstock logo. Here is your chance to own a 42 year old vintage, high quality, aged wood precision bass with all the classic thump and growl you’ll ever need at a great price. Not to be confused with the later Squier branded guitars(Korean, Mexican, Chinese), this beautifully crafted 1983 Fender Squier SQ serial precision bass was built in the renowned Fujigen Factory in Japan during what many consider the golden era of Japanese built instruments. The Japanese factory builders were known for their meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship putting many Made in USA fender instruments built around that time to shame even going back into the 70’s when Fender’s QC went downhill. They rival and beat out made in the USA basses. The SQ serial instruments were only built for 2 years making them quite rare. These built to vintage spec instruments stood out with their tight neck pockets, amazing necks, and quality materials. The body is made of alder wood and very resonant. Gorgeous, dark rosewood fretboard. There are a few small dings throughout the bass body and some buckle rash on the back of the body, but it is in great condition otherwise. The neck is in excellent shape, nearly flawless and in my opinion one of the most comfortable necks to play. They have a slightly narrower nut width and neck thickness front to back. All original parts except tone/volume knobs and strap buttons. Original untouched wiring/electronics. Setup with low action and ready to play. Strung with Slinky nickel wound 45-105 strings. *Includes original fender hardcase* Feel free to ask me any questions. If you see this listing it’s available. May consider trades for a nice bass cabinet or head.
