Description
These ten-dollar notes were printed with a brown seal and overprint and were issued as part of a special series of notes during World War II. This was a contingency plan in case the Japanese invaded Hawaii. If that happened, the US government would have declared these notes worthless, thus preventing the enemy from using captured American currency. The series included $1, $5, $10, and $20 notes.
