You’re looking at an early 20th century collectible reel — the A.F. Meisselbach “Tripart” No. 580, made in Newark, New Jersey. This model was produced circa 1910s–1920s and is one of Meisselbach’s innovative take-apart reels (“Tripart” referring to the three-piece design). • Clear stamping: “Tripart No. 580” and “A.F. Meisselbach & Bro., Newark N.J., USA – 80 Yards.” • Patent dates engraved: 1904–1909. • Features nickel-plated brass frame and early hard rubber/ivorine handle knob. • Capacity: 80 yards — less common size compared to the 100–150 yd. versions. This reel shows plating wear, light corrosion around screws, and typical signs of honest use. The handle knob is original. A great display piece or restoration candidate for collectors of early American reels. Condition: Moderate plating wear, surface marks, and patina consistent with age.
