Grimaud “Le Jeu des Medecins” Playing Cards, Pino Zac Designs, 1983

Delightful non-standard deck made by Grimaud c.1983, called “Le Jeu des Medecins,” taking a satirical look at the medical profession, featuring the brilliant designs of Pino Zac. The designs of the pips include medical equipment items (i.e., stethoscope on Heart pips, etc.). It is interesting that the backgrounds on the faces of the court cards are different colors -- blue backgrounds for the court cards in the red suits, and magenta for those in the black suits. The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus an extra card announcing the deck. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm. They come in the original box. The cards are in excellent condition, “as new” or very nearly so. The box is also in excellent condition, with minor shelf wear, except that there is a cataloguing sticker on one end flap.
